Thousand Steps

Thousand steps is a well-defined trail down to the coastline.  The actual number of steps is more in the 300 range, but they are slightly precarious with salt damage over the years.  In October 2022 there was an eagle scout project that cleaned up the area and put up a nice sign.  The boys liked to explore the coast but it was a bit tricky because the plants would grow up on the rocks and it was very easy (Milton did this in the 7th picture) to step into a hole when it looks flat with the plants.  The water was very rough so the waves were crashing pretty high.  It was a high surf advisory day. We went with several other families after school on Friday so it was fun to have other kids to hang out with.  And other adults so that the front and rear of the line was covered.  Owen was slightly grumpy about going on a hike, but he ended up enjoying himself.  Milton is a super trooper hiker guy.
