Fort Nuestra Señora de la Soledad

Fort Nuestra Señora de la Soledad is a fortification near Umatac, Guam. Built by the Spanish probably between 1802 and 1819, it was the fourth of four fortifications that protected an anchorage for galleons transiting between Acapulco, Mexico and the Philippines, a route that fell out of use in 1815 with Mexican independence. The fort has been damaged by treasure-hunters; it was made into a park following World War II. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. This was my attempt for a Christmas card picture that was eventually successful.  However, the only picture that had both kids smiling I was not fast enough to get to the spot before the camera timer went off.  I made an effort to photoshop myself from a different picture (corrected for this post) I didn't properly merge the sky line around my hat before ordering my Christmas cards.  Oops.  With the size of the print on the card and in general grainyness of the cardstock hopefully not too noticeable.  I did work out the shadow for Owen's arm though.  The card is mostly for sharing our new mailing address and in general entertainment for myself so big picture not a huge deal. Frustrating none-the-less that I didn't catch that.
