February 2018

This month brought us the very bad news of my dad having cancer with the tumor causing paralysis from his naval down.  This has been most of our focus the past month.  The kids still go on as if there wasn't anything different going on.  Being able to get baby and kid loves every day make dealing with my dad being sick much more tolerable.

Owen loves going to school and his gymnastics classes.  The teacher will occasionally say that he had a tough time following directions and sitting, but she says that he is making progress.  I am amazed how his Tonka trucks are still his absolute favorite toy.  Many times the train tracks are used as cargo instead of making a track.  The two pictures on here that are of Owen sleeping with me are probably the only two times he took a nap the whole month.  We don't have the lock on his door any more so he will frequently escape and come into our bed.  He is quite the mommy magnet letting me only have a couple inches of bed to myself.

Milton is starting to pull himself up on anything and everything.  The couch is a favorite so that he can also double as a place to wipe his nose.  He likes to spice things up using something other than my shoulder. He has yet to come across food that he doesn't like or eat in vast quantities.  He is still breastfeeding, but only two or three times per day. Sleeping is still not his strong suit with most of the time getting up once in the night.  He will settle down eventually after I feed him.  He only takes one nap per day mostly because of the logistics of having him be awake when going to pick up Owen at one. His morning naps were short and unreliable so I decided to give up on them. Having a reliable afternoon nap was better.  It does impact on Owen being able to play at the playground at school after pickup, but we do what needs to be done to keep both kids (and me) sane.
