June brought us the finish line for Owen's virtual schooling. I'm very proud of how Owen did and how he was able to move into the higher reading group. The biggest surprise of the month was finding out that Owen needed rather strong glasses! My reason for the appointment was because how close he would always stand to the TV. The appointment was just a couple days before driving up to Bethesda for our flight a few days later going out to Wyoming for the summer. Thankfully this office was able to make glasses that were ready by the end of the day. When Owen first put them on he said "Mommy you look so big!" He has astigmatism and a rather strong lens for farsightedness. The opposite of mine. He has done surprisingly well wearing them. I was expecting a lot of pushback so bought a second pair but we haven't had to use them yet. We also had to say goodbye to William since his family got new orders down in Florida. The kids understood that they wouldn't be able to play anymore after William left, but were able to have a lot of fun before having to part. June also brought us new neighbors with two kids Owen and Milton's age. Owen refers to them as "the girls". They play well together, but didn't click as much as with William. Damon was sad for us to go, but was very excited for the boys to have a fun summer in Wyoming.
