We got some major dirt work done in Fall 2020 for the Bucking Molar. More dirt was added throughout 2021. In 2024 we got more dirt and flattened out again. A line was also dug for putting down railroad ties along the property line next to the Marriott.

Wilmington Battleship Marathon
After having the 2019 Marine Corps Marathon, 2020 Boston Marathon, and 2020 70.3 Blue Ridge Triathlon cancelled secondary to COVID-19, it was fun to have an actual race. The Battleship people did a great job trying to run a marathon in a COVID-19 environment. They had everyone wear masks at the waiting line. They limited each wave to 50 people and did multiple waves. It was weird but everything about 2020 has been weird. It was a beautiful day to run with cool clear temperatures. The route was different as they literally had us run a circle four times to get a marathon distance. The course is primarily a half marathon course. The race course was fun because you get to run around the USS North Carolina and cross the Cape Fear River twice. I finished 2nd overall which is my best showing at any marathon; however, my time was one of my worst times for a marathon in many years. The truth is you run faster and harder in a herd and COVID-19 requires distancing. It was fun to run and I enjoyed this change to the COVID-19 groundhog day experience.

November 2020
Our second full month at school. Both boys are doing amazing at school and we are endlessly happy that both schools are open. Milton's favorite thing to do is make a huge puddle in our front yard with the hose spigot. We went to a fair they had at the mall parking lot and the boys loved riding the Ferris wheel and getting to play some of the fair games. Milton still loves his caterpillar and it is often in bed with him for the night. Owen is doing great with his piano lessons and has been learning how to play Jingle Bells. He also had his last soccer game which was met with much rejoicing from me because it was a huge struggle to get him to go and it was a big time investment for Damon and I to get all the coach paperwork sorted out with the Youth Sports office. The highlight of the month was my mom coming to visit for Thanksgiving. It was a fun week with us going out to Beaufort for some beach time and shell hunting, going to the Aurora Fossil Museum (probably our favorite place), riding bikes, and having our mini thanksgiving dinner at home.
