Beginnings of the Lawn

March 23, 2015 - Spring!

The yard in December - not much of anything.

The grass is continuing to grow at one month after the initial planting. Let the years of lawn mowing begin.

Two weeks after the initial grass planting, the seeds have sprouted! Many thanks to Ileene for sending us the updated photos.

Damon spent a few weeks working on the yard and checking up on the final house finishes to get the mortgage all worked out.  Now we enter the world of home ownership and the money sink that they are.

Rocks raked out of the yard and topsoil spread around. He also put a border of gravel bounded by railroad ties for the water to hit from our 2' overhang.

No more steep hill in the front.

All those weeds got tamed - at least for this year.

Sealant on the concrete and two of the Wyoming bucking broncos from Verdean.

More of the tamed down yard.

The front swale has been filled in enough to mow safely. It was filled with the basement excavation.

The gravel border is easier seen here.

Month 8

It is almost hard to believe that another month has passed.  We got to spend all month in the US with family that was so wonderful.  Owen sprouted his two top teeth and his "inchworming" skills have greatly increased in speed.  He has a great affinity to computer wires (of which there are a million at the Palmer home) and empty water bottles. We were also able to do his baby blessing at the Bethesda ward with all our East Coast family.

We stayed at the hotel on the snow day.

A very pretty, but dangerous, ice storm.

Colton teaching Damon the ideal nose picking position.

I kept catching him licking the side of the pack & play.
