Easter 2017

We all gathered at our house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.  Owen got so excited to see Otto and Rory they were all running around in circles.  At the egg hunt Owen discovered that the eggs had chocolate inside so he would find an egg, open it, unwrap the chocolate, and then toss the foil and egg back on the ground.  Otto was the only one who figured out how to use the basket in conjunction with the egg gathering.  Owen was trying to use his tractors and Rory was more interested in his soccer ball.  Milton was happily swaddled being carried around by my mom. It will be very interesting to see how much they change for next year's Easter festivities.

April 2017

April is our first full month with Milton.  Owen is doing well with him, which helps with Milton spending most of his day sleeping. Ileene came to visit at the beginning of the month which was not only immensely helpful for me, but Owen absolutely loved having her to play with.  On the morning she left he looked all around the townhouse saying, "Where is gwap gwap?" The second biggest excitement for Owen was that the construction in our parking lot for replacing the gas line throughout the community, and also moving the gas meter from the basement to the exterior wall.  Watching all the tractors and excavators was captivating for him. He wanted to help them with the digging and would bring out all of his tonka trucks to offer assistance. Rod was also able to come out for a visit and Owen was super excited to have another person to play with him.  Owen loves all of his grandparents and all of them are affectionately called "gwap gwap" Owen's favorite activity with Rod is wrestling on the floor. We are already looking forward to our big visit out to Wyoming this summer.

Owen's huge accomplishment this month is going pee in the potty on his own.  We learned that Parmesan cheese = snow. Flour and sugar are also snow.  His vocabulary continues to grow.  I have made the decision to stop the services with the Infants and Toddlers program as it was causing more stress than assistance.  The best help for Owen is to go over to his daycare and hang out with other kids his age.  And also just to give him time to grow at his own pace.  His climbing skills are extraordinary and when at the playground he will often out-climb kids several years older.

Milton is growing and nursing very well.  He even will sleep well once he is finally asleep.  He is definitely having trouble with colic spending several hours per day screaming or in general fussy.  His farting skills are also rather impressive.  There is no doubt denying Damon as his father.  It is such an enormous relief to finally be done with the pregnancy and childbirth.  My recovery is going well also.  So much better than with Owen.
