September 2022

Our first full month of school. We are all having so much fun going to school and getting back into our groove.  I really love teaching my 6th grade science classes.  The first few weeks are me just observing and getting the hang of the protocols.  Damon did a two week class in Bethesda mid-month which was a really cool class for him but it was a rather difficult two weeks for me and boys to keep the ship afloat.  It all works out. Milton lost his first tooth! At school, the same as Owen losing his first tooth.  He was pretty excited to have a visit from the tooth fairy.  The only bummer right now is that we can't locate his little tooth holder we had purchased in Germany back in 2015.  It will turn up somewhere.  I'm sure Milton put it in one of his treasure chests somewhere.  The boys love our neighbor across the street who they get to hang out with at SAC too.  The birthday of William McCool, the school's namesake, had one day being to dress up as some sort of astronaut.  Milton was thrilled to break out his outfit and then the librarian had one too so a picture was unavoidable. Being so busy at school I didn't end up taking very many pictures this month.

PIC Super American Circus

The PIC circus is a ton of fun for the kids.  The boys loved the clown and the last trick of two motorcycles riding around in the metal sphere.

2022 Anchor Projects

Damon was able to level out more of the lawn by the gabions with the dirt from digging the garage foundation. We hired the paving company to prep the driveway for the paving, but were able to put off the paving until next summer as we got the confirmation from Hal that he would be finishing the construction of our garage over the winter. Damon put in the third row of the back garden since the foundation was all installed.  The process of digging out those garden areas yielded enough dirt to get all of the big ditch filled in behind the path! The boys built an excellent tree house.  I didn't do many projects as my extra time was spent studying for my final Praxis test at the end of July.  The trees are growing great.  Only a few needed to get replaced.
