Wilmington, Delaware

We drove over to northern Delaware on my quest for NPS stamps. First, we visited the Beaver Valley Woodlawn Tract at Brandywine Creek State Park. It has beautiful tulip poplars and a fun wall that Owen liked running on top. Second, we went to the Old Swedes Church in Wilmington. It was consecrated on Trinity Sunday, June 4, 1699, by a predominantly Swedish congregation formerly of the colony of New Sweden. Lastly, we went to New Castle to see the courthouse and have lunch. We ate at Jessop’s Tavern which served delicious colonial-style food. Owen’s favorite part was the great playground and beach we found just a short walk from where we had lunch.
