August was summer camp month for Owen. He went to half-day at Ayrlawn. Each week they would take the little bus over to the pool. I'm still not sure which Owen liked more; the bus or the pool. He loves the water and his camp counselor said he did great with all the other kids and following directions. Camp was very busy as they had all school aged kids there too. He was probably the youngest kid in there since the minimum age was 4 years old.
Each weekend we went out to some place that had a beach for Owen and Milton to play in the sand. We liked the MWR Solomons island pool and beach. I got a ripping sunburn, but it was a ton of fun for the kids. Damon liked finding the nearby crab house. Milton liked them too!
Ileene flew back to Bethesda with us and then stayed the week. It was crazy hot, but as to be expected in August. We went over to the Zoo one morning and the boys love the carousel. Owen wanted to go on the same elephant each time.
Milton is doing great. Walking is going great. Not much to say as of yet, but he excels at anything relating to food. He loves his books and the best way for him to stay happy in his crib is to give him a book. He will wake up rather angry, so he needs a bit of time to settle down. Then when I go in he is sitting in his crib studying his book.
The biggest family excitement is that my mom was able to get a contract on 9611 Montgomery Drive within 6 days of going on the market! She settled on her new house at 6308 Hollins Drive on August 20. All of that was happening while she was out on her convention in Las Vegas so it made for any last minute house showings to be easy since nobody was living there.
