Halloween 2019

Halloween is always the most fun part of October. We got some fun lights and other decorations to put on our porch. My favorite part was the three foot tall blow-up pumpkin. Milton would say pumpkin whenever we got close to the house.

Marine Corps Marathon 2019

This was my sixth Marine Corps Marathon.  It was my second slowest time.  The rain and wind was a challenge, but also was the fact that I do not run as much in Lejeune as I did in Walter Reed.  Having a busier job messes with runs at lunch.  I drove up and stayed at Bonnyfred's and then drove home after the race.  They did a 50K this year and the course was a little confusing but as always the Marines put on the best Marathon I know.  The volunteers worked in pouring rain and were amazing.

October 2019 Bethesda Weekend

We drove up to Bethesda for the long weekend.  It was fun to get to spend time with our Palmer family.  We went to a concert for Owen to see a piano, flute, and oboe. Owen had been asking to go to the aquarium since we went to Charleston so we took him up to the Baltimore aquarium.  The kids loved the dolphin show.  The next day we went to the zoo with my mom that Milton was so fascinated he fell asleep in the stroller.  The kids favorite part was probably going to the Calleva enchanted forest in their Halloween costumes with Otto, Rory, and Abby.  The big project that we did was get the tree my mom picked out for my dad's memorial tree in the ground.  It is a twelve-foot tall tree and incredibly heavy and difficult to manage.  Damon was able to back the trailer into my moms back yard and we were able to roll it into the hold Damon dug over the summer.  The placement ended up being closer to the fence than my mom was hoping so her "men" came to move it over away from the fence.  It is a beautiful tree and hopefully all the movement didn't damage the root ball too much. It was a fun weekend.  The drive is long, but worth it to be able to spend time with family.

October 2019

At the beginning of October we were all able to drive up to Bethesda for a long weekend.  We had a ton of fun going to the Calleva Enchanted Forest with my mom, Colton, Adrienne, Otto, Rory, and Abby.  The kids were so adorable in their costumes.  Owen had been begging us to go to the aquarium since our weekend in Charleston, so we went up to Baltimore on Sunday.  Milton's favorite part is running around the ramps in the section with the sharks.  We got to see the dolphin display too which was fun.  On Monday we went to the Zoo with my mom and it was a beautiful day to walk around.  For lunch we went to a fun Greek place by the Cleveland Park metro station.  Owen got to participate with our ward's primary program and he did fantastic! He stayed up on the podium the entire time and got up and said his line (with assistance) when they asked him to.  We went to Wendy's afterward in celebration.  My memories of primary programs are hiding under the bench and not wanting to go up at all. Milton and I went to the children's museum in Jacksonville that he really enjoyed.  On the cold winter days we will probably go over after dropping off Owen. There was a fall festival at Owen's school which was a ton of fun.  Milton's preferred game was rolling the pumpkins.  Both of the boys' favorite thing to do at the festival was go on the bounce houses.
