After Owen and Milton were done with school we drove up to Bethesda. It was very sad saying sorry to our friends, but getting to see grandma and the cousins made it a little easier. The kids got to go over to Otto and Rory's pool for a couple days which was fun to see Otto swim with his team practice. Otto wasn't done with school for the year yet so Owen loved seeing Otto's virtual class. My favorite part of the trip was Kory and her girls driving down to Bethesda for a few days. We got the enormous water slide again that Milton and Abby went on this year too. We had one minor water leakage issue with the air part filling with water, but thankfully Kory was there that we got it worked out. The downstream neighbors got soggy yards that day. We also got a cake to have a celebration for everybody's birthdays. We also went to a Big Train baseball game, the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, and the Zoo with all the cousins. Owen and Milton went for a ride on a pirate ship that Milton was in heaven. They got to shoot water cannons at a pirate, find a treasure map, pull up a treasure chest, and even get to take some treasure home. While Kory was in Bethesda, Fairfax did the Herrity Plaza dedication that was one of the last projects my dad worked on. When I was in Spain I heard about that project pretty much daily! It was a huge undertaking and even still some of the parts are not complete such as the final install of the benches and having the fountain water actually flow. Just playing around and doing projects at my mom's house was so much fun. Adrienne and I got a professional photographer to do a photoshoot with all the grandkids. We will probably not make it back to Bethesda during our time stationed at Guam. It was a really great trip.
