December 2022

The least exciting part of December was Damon leaving for an unknown amount of time out to the Nimitz.  He got to ride in a medevac helicopter over to the ship which was kinda cool. The most exciting event this month is our new niece/cousin! Lillian Mia Parsons on December 22, 2022. We are super excited to get to meet her this summer.  The next biggest excitement is that I graduated on December 18th.  https://waterytimes.blogspot.com/2022/12/mat-graduation.html My last day of teaching was on December 5th.  Then my final portfolio presentation was on December 8th.  My action-research presentation was on Dec 3rd. Now to work on getting my official certification. The boys are happy at school and love to play with our neighbors as soon as they get home. We finally went up to the Micronesia Mall to go see a movie and we discovered inside is a full-on arcade even with an indoor rollercoaster.  An excellent way to spend a hot and rainy day. We also went to the Chamorro market again to finish some Christmas shopping.  They had a climbing wall that Owen tried and Milton rode in the barrel train.  I am so proud of Owen for trying rock climbing and doing fairly well.  That kind of wall is what I would do some weekends with when I worked at Sportrock. Owen is still rocking his piano lessons and Milton will hang outside in the car since Owen does better paying attention when we aren't there.  We had to take the Jimny one day and Milton was happy eating his chips and playing PBS kids games.  I got the school pictures back and in comparison, to last year, you can see that I let the boys select their own outfits.  It makes for a much more fun school picture when they get to show off their favorite outfits.  Milton is really embracing island life wearing his 'spiffy shirts' to church as well. Owen's artistic topics are typically police stations and trucks with all people represented with a smile and a top hat. Milton's artistic themes are volcanoes, submarines, pirate ships (with an anchor), and squids. Sometimes I can't tell whose art is whose, but by the topic of the art I can tell them apart. Milton creates very intricate drawings. The boys love spending their time at SAC drawing and making things out of construction paper. They are so happy to go to SAC I am endlessly grateful that program exists for them to go to after school.
