February 2020
February was another good month. Milton is doing fantastic in his morning preschool. He runs into his class and does a whale call type of thing to his teachers every morning. I am very proud of him adjusting so well with his new setting. He is making excellent progress with speaking. My favorite thing he does right now is that I will start singing to him and he will shout "quiet mom". His "boom boom" is fun too. We have also resumed potty training. He is able to manage pulling up/down his pants which is an improvement from our last potty training attempt. We like going canoeing just around the corner on base. We finally were successful at getting the rental people to let us all in the same canoe. That made my experience much easier in not having to do any paddling! We also love going to Onslow beach and we are getting better at spotting shark teeth. We will have a pretty good collection by the time we leave here. We had a snow day on February 21 which was a very stressful half inch of snow that didn't even stick to the pavement. I had to photograph it first thing in the morning because by about 10am it was all melted. Owen was #8 on his soccer team (see the group action photo). He even got the sportsmanship award on the first week that he stayed through the entire game. Owen's team managed to have no wins for the entire season. One could say that they had a perfect record. Another milestone for Owen is that he has his first loose tooth! It is even the "O" tooth. Damon did a dental day at Owen's school and did the presentation in Owen's class. It was fun to see Owen in his class and to see how the kids understand that sugar bugs pee acid and it hurts teeth. We are so pleased with Owen's school and his teacher.
